How does it feel to be a part of the Hot Creations family?

“Amazing – Hot Creations has always been that one label I aspired to be on since I got into dance music, so to have released a #1 with them is a huge achievement.”

What was your favorite elrow party you performed at?

“Amnesia is my favorite club in the world so I’d normally have said that one, but then the show I played for them in Barcelona on New Year’s Day 2017 was unreal. It’s their biggest show of the year and opens at 9 AM – I played at midday which is the peak time set, so that was definitely one I’ll never forget.”

What does elrow mean to you?

“I always feel sorry for the poor bastard who has to blow up all the inflatables.”

‘La Fiesta’ has been a popular song, how does it feel when other artists play it?

“It’s an amazing feeling whenever anyone plays a track you’ve written, and that one had so much support that it blew me away really."

II OUT NOW II >> lnk.to/HOTC099 << After a busy eighteen months promoting his debut album, Essex-hailer Max Chapman brings us his La Fiesta EP on Hot Creations. The title track features alongside remixes by the versatile Luca Cazal and house veteran Todd Terry. With Latin vibes from the outset, Max has encompassed the essence of The White Isle. La Fiesta is a migration of percussion, chanting and melodic vocals and flirtatious basslines. Luca Cazal has turned up the kick and brings an old school vibe with his remix. Todd Terry’s energetic arrangement of snares and bongos compliments the provencal vocal perfectly. Since his arrival on the scene six years ago, Max Chapman has released on an abundance of labels including VIVa, Toolroom and last years Body Jack on Elrow, that achieved number one status across all genres on Beatport. Established in 2012, his imprint Resonance Records provides a platform for the freshest talent in underground tech-house. Max’s album Catch Me If You Can, released last year, received a notable 9/10 in both Mixmag and DJ Mag. Luca Cazal has been steadily rising up the ranks since his debut release on Crosstown Rebels in 2013. Constantly refining his production skills, Luca transmits positive emotions with every track he releases. After three decades on the scene, Grammy-nominated Legend Todd Terry has continued to release superior productions and entertain crowds worldwide. TRACK LISTING A1. Max Chapman - La Fiesta A2. Who was your favorite DJ that you’ve worked with?

“I’d have to say George Smeddles. He’s really easy to work with and our studio sessions always result in something decent – we’ve got the same way of working and just bounce ideas off each other all day.”

Do you listen to other music besides techno and house?

“Not really to be honest – I do listen to a bit of old 80s music, but that’s about it. I don’t really get that much spare time to listen to other music if I’m not listening to promos then I’m producing or playing out. That said, I just got back from a week in Tenerife and I didn’t listen to any music at all week, that was quite refreshing."

What artists do you listen to that inspires you?

“Right now I’ve been listening to Bicep’s album pretty much every day – if you haven’t heard it I suggest you go check it out.”

When on tour what kind of food do you eat?

“I don’t eat meat so I find it’s actually quite hard to eat well while I’m on tour – I always end up eating crisps and crap. I’ve promised myself to make more of an effort this year though so ask me again in 12 months and you might get a different answer!”

What’s on the horizon for Max Chapman? Have you got any big plans or announcements for 2018?

“I’m really excited about playing more in the US this year actually – I’ve got Groove Cruise Miami at the end of January, CRSSD Festival in March, obviously I’m playing Brooklyn on the 17th Feb, and then I’m also due to play Denver, Ottawa, Detroit, Chicago and more over the next few months too. Other than that, I’ve been working hard in the studio and there are a few big releases lined up already for this year which I think are some of my best tracks yet.”
