With bracelets in the mail, you know Spring Awakening is right around the corner. With less than 2 months away, festival season has arrived and this is a fantastic way to kick off the summer if you aren’t already planning a festival over Memorial Day Weekend.
Are you like me and traveling from out of town? If you are, do you have everything booked, bought your tickets, or shuttle passes? If you are anything like me, I tend to get ready for festivals that last minute however, these past years I’ve learned that the earlier you prep for the trip, the better off you are and you can save tons of money- which who doesn’t like extra cash?
Have you booked where you are staying? Unfortunately, this isn’t a camping festival so booking your room ASAP if you haven’t already is crucial. It’s summer time in the Chi and hotel rates are up with it being summer. Spring Awakening has partnered up with some local hotels for festival goers but rooms are going fast. To check those out, visit here.
Another great way to travel which I am a HUGE fan of is Airbnb. With Airbnb, you can book an entire place out for you and your friends. This could be a house, condo, sky-rise, shared room, or studio apartment. Whatever your budget, this is a great way to go. You can cook in a kitchen instead of going out to eat all the time, have more space if you’re going with a large group, and use the amenities of the place you are staying at if they offer them. If you’re looking for a homier feel, I would say this is by far the best way to go, plus it’s usually cheaper. For a $40 credit, visit here!
How to get there? Are you driving? Flying in? Once you are in Chicago, there are plenty of ways to get to the festival. Driving to the actual festival park is not recommended. DO NOT PARK IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS, YOU WILL BE TOWED. PARKING IS EXTREMELY LIMITED and there are many ways to travel to the park. There is Uber, Lyft, Public Transportation, bikes and more. Just plan it out so you’re not scrambling for parking or how to get there and miss your favorite DJ set. For directions and location, check it out here.
Be on the lookout for your #SAMF2017 wristbands! They start shipping on April 28th!
In a few weeks, I’ll post my top artist to see and Spring Awakening checklist.
If you haven’t got your tickets yet, please visit here before they sell out!
