Lightning in a Bottle Returns to Original Memorial Day Weekend Dates + Lineup

North America’s premier independent music and arts festival, Lightning in a Bottle, revealed the lineup today for its 2020 weekend gathering and will be returning to the gorgeous Buena Vista Lake in Southern California for the second year on its original Memorial Day Weekend date, May 20th-25th.

The lineup is loaded with talented acts and artists within the dance music scene, including live performances. With three stages sprawling throughout the festival, Lightning Stage, Woogie, and Thunder Stage each one featuring different genres. Lightning Stage will once again play host to a finely tuned roster of live and electronic behemoths. The stage will feature performances from renowned urban beat-maker Kaytranada, indie-pop sweethearts Sylvan Esso and electro-funk maverick GRiZ, innovative dance music icon Four Tet, the sweeping soundscapes of Big Wild, genre-blenders Jon Hopkins and Emancipator plus more. LIB favorite the Lucent Dossier Experience will also return after a three-year hiatus, to captivate with a bounded euphoric and mesmerizing experience. The Woogie will continue its legacy of bringing the world’s biggest house and techno artists together. 2020 Woogie selectors include global sensation Nina Kraviz, Grammy winners Bob Moses, German techno wizard Stephan Bodzin, Dirtybird favorites Justin Martin and Justin Jay, Ukranian duo ARTBAT, South African legend Kyle Watson, duo Eli & Fur,  and Crew Love captains Soul Clap, All Day I Dream’s Hoj, cinematic techno artist Rinzen, plus a special back-to-back set from Desert Heart friends RYBO and Lubelski. The Thunder Stage will have heavy bass masters for ultimate headbanging. James Blake will perform a special DJ set, Amon Tobin will be presenting his Two Fingers project, and veteran neuro-funk trio Noisia will make LIB a premiere stop on their final tour. The stage will also feature notorious turntablist DJ Shadow and Keys N Krates will perform a DJ set, LIB favorites The Funk Hunters, dubstep hero Minnesota, future-bass wizards DROELOE, and EPROM. 

Attendees have the opportunity to kick things off a day ahead of the crowds by purchasing a 5-Day Festival Pass that allows for festival entry on Wednesday to beat the Thursday traffic. These early-arrival privileges come with exclusive access to the seven-hour lakeside welcome party, with Desert Hearts crew members Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Porky. CEO and founder of LA-based electronic music collective Soulection, Joe Kay will take control in the evening as he debuts his famed four-hour takeover at the bass-heavy sanctuary of The Stacks.

Since the early 2000s, the Do LaB has fostered a boutique experience that has gone on to inspire a global movement within the larger festival community. Lightning in a Bottle stands as a destination for musical artists looking to perform within creative stage environments in front of one of the scene’s most engaged and dedicated crowds. Its dedicated fanbase returns each year to experience the growing community of adventurers, educators, and immersive visual arts. The festival is known for the abundant health and wellness workshops hosted by the Compass & Learning Kitchen, extensive yoga programs, LIB proves once again that music festivals can be a place to learn and grow a person. Through their unique fusion of endless immersive installation art, and wacky activities from the rink-a-dink roller rink to the Unicorn Palace or Jive Joint.

Lightning in a Bottle is ready to return home to the beautiful shores of Buena Vista Lake and reclaim its traditional Memorial Weekend date.
