Detroit’s techno festival, Movement is in 10 hopefully, short days away. Located at the stunning Hart Plaza at the legendary riverfront park during Memorial Day Weekend, May 25th - May 27th. The three-day event celebrates techno and coming together. Your Techno City adventure starts at Movement but it continues with all the massive after parties. Once the festival ends, the real parties begin the nightlife of Detroit transforms into a techno paradise with each nightspot throwing some of the most iconic events. With all the after parties taking place during this year it may be a little hectic and overwhelming however, choose wisely, take naps between and keep in mind that some parties will last throughout the night into the dawn hours its alright to be fashionably late.

Saturday night, May 25th will begin with the Official Movement After Party at the Magic Stick with Detroit Love featuring Carl Craig A2A, Seth Troxler, DJ Minx, DJ Dez Andres, Mirko Loko, Al Ester plus special guests. Continuing the night presented by Paradigm & Paxahau present is Wizardry featuring a special triple back-to-back set with Damian Lazarus, DJ Tennis, and DJ Three plus special guest Ataxia at the Leland City Club. TEXTURE and Marble bar are back for the 3rd straight Memorial Day weekend experimentation, where we explore the possibilities of temporal experience intertwined with light, space, and sound. From elite acts such as Egyptian Lover (live), Anthony Parasole, Rrose (live), Dr. Rubinstein, Aurora Halal & Relaxer (live), Batu_music & Simo Cell, PLO Man, Loren, Naeem, drowned (live), Soren, Jacob Park, and, STAUB showcase starting at 7 am. More parties continue with Paxahau presents: Soul Clap House of EFUNK at TV Lounge and night one of Return to the Source - Tresor Detroit at Tangent Gallery.

Sunday night, May 26th has even more parties beginning with Movement’s Official After-party Observe / SCENE 2019 featuring Planetary Assault Systems, Henning Baer, Adam X, Truncate, drumcell, DJ Hyperactive, Project 313, Rubidium, Alterity, Dru Ruiz, and OKTAform (VJ) at The Baltimore Gallery. Another official Movement after party is ORIGINS at the Magic Stick featuring Kevin Saunderson & Derrick May as Hi Tek Soul Concept, Hot Creations Patrick Topping, Drummer B, DJ Tribal Touch, plus The Saunderson Brothers & King Saaidi on the Alley Deck. The night continues with 25 Years Of Ovum Recordings featuring Josh Wink, Ambivalent, Manik at El Club. Dirtybird fans can be found at the Dirtybird Presents: Official Movement After-party with Shiba San at Berts Warehouse Entertainment. Taking place at the Leland City Club is Paradigm & Paxahau presents Matthew Dear, Kenny Larkin, Kenny Glassgow, and Hiroko Yamamura. J.A.W. Aquatic Adventures returns to Detroit for Movement weekend with Just Add Water by Color Deaf featuring Lee Curtiss, Nitin, and support by Mass Appeal, Dru Ruiz, and Sonya Alvarez. The legendary party series, ‘OK COOL’ makes its 7th annual pilgrimage to its spiritual home of Detroit, for another amazing night-into-day party, at TV Lounge. Featuring a slew of talented acts including Derrick Carter, DJ Jus-ed, Ardalan, Delano Smith, Tara Brooks, Eddie C, Ataxia, Atnarko, Dax Lee, Loren, Mister Joshooa, Admn, Jeremy Ismael, Automaticamore, and Steve The Amazing. Coyu brings Suara to Detroit for its first ever label showcase during Movement weekend along with Ø [Phase], AADJA, and, 999999999 for a Live and Debut at BLEU DETROIT. Brought to you by WORK by 6AM, Obscure and Synthetik Minds. Cenote Records debut Detroit showcase event at The Elephant Room. Cenote Records is going to deliver the proper Sunday Morning Vibe to heal and nourish the body & soul, with legendary selectors in control of all your auditory needs. Fresh vinyl and mimosas will guide us through this musical Sunday Spring morning. Along with a stacked lineup, Agents of Vibe, E. Spleece, Finley, Jay Prouty, Punisher, Sergio Santos, plus special guests. Last but not least is night two of Return to the Source - No Way Back at Tangent Gallery. The two-room will have elite techno artists taking place in the No Way Back Room is BMG, Bryan Kasenic, Derek Plaslaiko, Erika, Eris Drew, Mike Servito, and, Patrick Russell. Artists performing in the Outer Space Room will be Mark Van Hoen (Locust, Seefeel), Grant Aaron, Scott Zacharias, and Outer Space (live).

Monday night, May 27th will finalize the Movement after parties celebrating techno one last time. Beginning with the iconic 21-hour party WHERE ARE MY KEYS presented by Marble Bar & The Electric Pickle and featuring DāM-FunK, Metro Area, Magic Mountain High (live), Tama Sumo, Move D, Juju & Jordash (live), and The Mulholland Free Clinic (live). The night continues with Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars Official Movement After Party at the Magic Stick along with special guests Latmun, Caleb Calloway and, Secondcity. The Blu Party will make its return for its fourth consecutive year at Level 2 Bar & Rooftop. The event created by Sydney Blu, will feature a stacked lineup of underground acts as music lovers unite on the dance floor in motor city. In room 1, is Crosstown Rebels favorite Francesca Lombardo, the love child of Katerblau Berlin's Britta Arnold and Dutch artist Unders will bring their spacious trippy tech sounds as Britta Unders, a founding father of Detroit's electronic sound - Eddie Fowlkes, with support from Yos, Dabura, and Francesco E Marcello. Room 2 will feature the No.19 boys Kenny Glasgow back-to-back with Nitin, with support from Soul Goodman, Miz Megs back-to-back Evan G, as well as Johnathn Coe, and of course the lady behind the party concept Sydney Blu. The night closes out with the official Movement Closing Party with a jaw-dropping back-to-back performances from Chris Liebing and Charlotte de Witte at Bert's Warehouse. Night three of Return to the Source ends with I.T. presents: The Bunker at Tangent Gallery / Hastings Street Ballroom.This year, The Bunker will be the last 10 hours of 37 hours of continuous music that starts with No Way Back at Return to the Source.
