Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival (BEMF) will make its triumphant return on October 3-6, 2018 for its 10th edition milestone. The four-night event will take place across some of Brooklyn’s finest nightclubs and warehouses, along with a stacked lineup which is now out. BEMF welcomes Nina Kraviz, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mount Kimbie, DJ Hell, Breakbot, and more top electronic artists from the borough and around the world.
“From DIY beginnings to now occurring at major venues, this independent festival continues to expand the conversation of music and our cultural experiences in Brooklyn. We hope to always continue to push the envelope and support the artists of Brooklyn.” - BEMF Founder, Jen Lyon
Spreading throughout Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bushwick, Gowanus, Greenpoint, and Williamsburg, one of the festival’s major club partners in 2018 is in the Avant Gardner. Known for its unique events and massive spaces, the two indoor industrial event areas the Great Hall and the Kings Hall will host stellar shows with house music and disco favorite Motor City Drum Ensemble. BEMF has invited some of New York’s finest, the legendary François K, Founding father of Deep Space and Body & Soul to join Sublimate's Sagotsky, and Solarplexia's Seth Magoon to round out the billing for the Friday, October 5 show.
In Bushwick, the ballroom and vogue champion, Mike Q, returns to House of Yes hosting a special edition of House of Vogue on Wednesday, October 3rd, promising guest MCs, DJs, and over $1000 in cash prizes.
On Thursday, October 4th, Ridgewood's intimate rave den, H0L0, highlights the up-and-coming Taraval hosted by hometown heroes AceMo and MoMa Ready of HAUS of ALTR. Continuing the day, OUTPUT will host the French, Disco-Don duo of Breakbot & Irfane, supported by Brooklyn talent The Duchess, and The Funky Seshwa founder, Willy Soul. Gowanus' Analog BKNY sees Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs take a spin on the borough's best custom built sound-system, ‘The SBS Slammer,’ with Nice Age label mates Durante and friends.
Hotspot Good Room boasts a stacked three-day run starting on Thursday, October 4th, with local stalwarts FIXED (JDH & Dave P) who've invited DJ Hell, Massimiliano Pagliara, and Kris Baha (LIVE) to their home turf. Night two will see JETS (Jimmy Edgar x Machinedrum) return to the booth, with the Darker Than Wax crew taking over the Bad Room. The venue’s festival finale promises a throw down of epic proportions with DJ Seinfeld's DJ-Kicks Tour supported by DJ Richard, Baltra, J.Albert (Live) and rising local phenoms on Saturday, October 6th.
On Friday, October 5th, ticket holders will journey through the darker shades of techno and breaks with hybrid DJ and live performances from Sprklebb, Heidi Sabertooth, Lychee, SKULPTOR, and P. Leone.
The final day on Saturday, October 6th, ReSolute will take the reins at Avant Gardner bringing top-notch creative production elements to the night. Attendees can expect a dramatic expanse of layered hypnotic visuals to complement the diverse palette of house, techno, and acid slated from the stellar lineup with techno titan Nina Kraviz to close out the night and festival.
