Known for being his own best “hype man”, Steve Aoki, DJ, producer, and founder of Dim Mak Records performed at Concord Music hall in Chicago for one of the Spring Awakening after parties on Friday night. Once again, he had an outstanding performance and kept the energy alive with the fans throughout the early morning!

Not only did Aoki’s beats keep the crowd begging for more, but his openers are a talented group of up-and-comers from the DJ scene.  Max Skyler is Dim Mak’s newest member of the team and Rain main who has branched into a solo career after leaving his former group of Krewella.

Aoki’s ostentatious style delivered a set that kept the fans filled with energy and excitement as he was dancing frenetically, screaming into the mike, while passing out cards with free download codes from songs off his new album.” He builds the tension only to cut it with an explosion of streamers and confetti raining over the crowd. Dropping his classic “No Beef”, you could see the crowd pulsating with every beat drop. Shortly after he dropped Blink 182’s “What’s my age again” keeping the energy high amongst the crowd as everyone in Concord Hall was singing every word we all know of the famous song.

One of my favorite moments of the set was when Aoki stopped Lion King into his set and then Celine Dion’s famous “My heart will go on”. Here you saw the famous scene from Titanic of Jake and Rose having their heads replaced his Steve Aoki’s own. It couldn’t get much better than that.

This song is a genre crossing collaboration from two different worlds between myself and Felix Jaehn and that's the beauty in mixing it up and making something so unique as Can't Go Home. Adding one of the best vocalists in the world Adam Lambert on it just brings this special song to a whole new level. Super excited about sharing this with the world!
